I sure hope Catford Ken has thought about Britain's loading gauges! Those Decapods may take some platforms along with them! As for the British locos transferring over to my 'side of the pond', everyone at my roundhouse thinks they must have come from a miniature railway somewhere!! Especially after servicing the UP 844 coming through town!

It seems that it is not known that this is a place where news releases are posted on things pertaining to our site and what is going on with members. Please no attacks on another's model railroading. It is not a place to nitpick on each other. Get into the spirit of just having fun. Not at someone else's expense.

The PGW press release states that the two recently transferred I1sa decapods have been unleashed upon the London area railroad community. Very positive reports place these locomotives right up there with the highly successful 9f class in their ability to attract railfans. These smooth running Hippo's are performing well. Their wailing whistles announce their location to railfans searching them out..
More to come....

Today a old coach has been added to the preserved branch, of the PGW. It was found among some other old coaches on a siding along Piney Creek, near Springfield Junction, in Ganister Pa. The coach with the others were taken back to the car shop at Frankford. Cleanup and restoration to follow.

Report on Missing detail onTyco, Mantua Pacific almost never installed,

Ken ; been thinking about you mantua pacific and the missing detail. On the side in the photo. Mantua has allowed for a throttle linkage to be added. From the cab forward atop the boiler is the turret valves enclosure , generator, bell, safety valves, steam dome, then sand dome, and stack. On the side below the steam dome is a angled do jigger, it has a pivot point in the middle. When you move the top of the bar back to the cab the bottom moves forward. It s is used to reverse the motion of the throttle linkage to the throttle valve in the smoke box. Mantua has predrilled the holes for the rods on every pacific boiler they have made, but only a few have ever installed this detail. You can see three predrilled holes for the rod from the reverse link to the throttle arm. Handrail stanchions like the ones holding the handrails are used to hold a length a handrail wire cut to fit between the two arms. A second piece of wire is cut to fit from the cab to the top of the reverse link. there are holes predrilled for this rod also.
frank
* Here is a pacific boiler I have installed the throttle on. Also the boiler is mounted on a Mikado drive to give the appearance of the USRA look used by the Erie RR.

Ken,

I like your AHM-Kader Side Tanker. I have one one in Peabody livery, and another painted in military green. Bachmann's version was a saddletank shell with the same chassis, and the shell tooling was later upgraded for their Spectrum 0-6-0.

Here's the service sheet should you... er, I mean the PGW backshops require them.

* Our photographer, Sneaky Photography has a little bit of info for those interested. He took this photo from the inside of a dumpster opposite the Station at Frankford. A regular freight was being run but with a special locomotive. When asked why he was in the dumpster taking the photo Sneaky said " I thought the photo being so news shattering, someone would try to stop me" This is one dedicated journalist. Maybe a prize winner. But does he smell badddd.
* It seems That Sneaky has found the next Locomotive to be assigned to the PGW.

Two days ago Sneaky and I went out to our connection with the ANNA RR at Saylorsburg PA. I was following up on a report by one of our conductors in reference to track conditions at this facility. The ANNA RR had notified us of some construction at this location. The ANNA RR is replacing it engine facility at Saylorsburg. We had some locomotives on site at this time. Sneaky took some photos of the new engine facility.
