I might have bought if he'd dropped the price down to $80-90, so that I would have examples of both C&O schemes used on the F units. But this is something I;ve noticed alot of people doing on ebay lately. If something doesn't seel, relist it at a higher price. It goes against the conventional wisdom of marketing. WHat's next? Will Wally Werld start charging Macy's or Nordstrom prices for their clearance section?

The market for Tyco is funny. Sometimes stuff goes for out out of sight,
other times you can't give it away. I'd think the seller would be lucky
to get $40, if he found a buyer. My guess as our demographic ages,

Up for bids is the super-rare Vintage 1983 TYCO HO Scale Bubble Yum Train Set New in Box and complete (Item No. 7603 Q). The set is in new, unused mint condition in the original shipping box and the cars are in their original boxes, if they came in boxes, because at least one didn’t (See Photos).
This set includes the following:
Sante Fe GP20 locomotive in red and chrome silver packed in foam insert only, did not have a box. The loco is new and I recently tested it and it runs well, but will still need to be lightly oiled and broken in for normal use. Amazing thta it has sit untouched, but still runs...a great testament to the vintage Tyco quality, which some people feel is lacking, but I for one do not!!.
Bubble Yum Box Car in its original brown box. This is a set excusive. The car is mint with the brake wheel. The box is in very nice condition with some light storage wear.
Bubble Yum Tractor Trailer in its original brown box. This is a set excusive. The vehicle is mint. The box is in very nice condition with some light storage wear.
Red Great Northern flat car with 3 Tractors in its original brown box. Use to haul Bubble Yum tractor trailer. The car is mint with the brake wheel. The box is in very nice condition with some light storage wear.
Silver Virginian non-operating 3-bay hopper. Car did not have a box and was just wrapped in tissue originally, but it is now wrapped in heavy packing paper. The car is mint with the brake wheel.
Generic unmarked caboose with road number 689 in its original brown box. Rare with no stamping on box flap. The caboose is mint with the brake wheel. The box is in near mint condition with some very light storage wear.
Brand new unused Tyco 80’s era transformer with unused section of yellow connecting wire.
Bridge and trestle set in mint condition and sealed in its original taped plastic bag with instructions.
Telephone pole and sign set in mint condition and sealed in its original taped plastic bag.
12 sections of curved track including 1 curved terminal section and 2 sections of straight track.
Original paperwork including an instruction sheet, a price list/order form, a rebate certificate sheet, and a colored Tycoscene colored brochure. The paperwork is in near mint condition except that the instructions are in good condition showin some age.
Original off-white shipping box is in good condition, but shows some tan/brown discoloration, surface wear, and faded red lettering due to age. The UPS postage mark on the box is dated November 22, 1983.
Well….I think that’s it….what a great piece of Tyco history.

Diesel F 9 runs okay but has one rear step broken off.

COMPLETE UNION PACIFIC PASSENGER TRAIN PLUS MORE.
I bought this to use on my slot car and train layout but never used it.
It is in excellent condition.
Made by Tyco / Mantua in the 1960s or early 70s.
There is one complete Union Pacific passenger train and an additional powered locomotive, coach, and club car.
INCLUDES-
2 powered locomotives
1 unpowered (dummy) locomotive
1 unpowered (dummy) B unit
4 coach cars
1 club car
1 observation car
Everything is in excellent condition. I did not see anything that was bent, broken, cracked, or missing. One coach car has white replacement couplers. One locomotive has KD couplers.
The complete set includes 1 powered locomotive, the unpowered (dummy) locomotive, the unpowered (dummy) B unit, 3 coach cars, and the observation car.
The club car, 1 coach car, and one locomotive were from another set.
I bench tested the locomotives and they both ran fine in forward and reverse.
I did not track test the locomotives. The lights also worked on both locomotives.
They locomotives would probably need new traction tires to run properly on a track.
I am not sure how to replace the traction tires on these locomotives because you cannot take the trucks apart.
I think that you would have to try to slip the tires on with the wheels still attached to the trucks.
The lights worked on all the passenger cars that were from the complete set.
The lights did not work on the club car and coach car that were from a second set.
Return for refund if not 100% satisfied.
