I've been working on Revell crossing shanty from a flea market. I put it on a base and repainted it then reworked the crossing

The crossing is just bass wood from the Hobby Lobby.

Very attractive little layout detail!

Very convincing asphalt pavement modeling too!

I like the center line on the road, too. I have childhood memories of TV commercials announcing the new markings (the ones we have now) and memories of when some states had them like on your layout and others had other ways of marking the no passing zones. Interestingly, I was just driving on a road earlier this month that still had the dashed white center line with the yellow no passing line on either side of it. It was old route 24 coming into Green River, UT from the south. Apparently it hasn't been repaved in about 50 years.

Thanks Glenn and Don. I did the road markings according to the 1954 ORER I found online. I still have some things to do like need to find a way to do the RR crossing stencils and the signs will have to be put on when everything is done because I will end up breaking them off. I have some yellow stop signs and red since I don't think they would of replaced them all at once.

That building brings back memories of the switchman's shacks used as temporary train order offices on WM and B&O, Make it a little bigger and put a couple of air tanks outside and it could stand in for the compressor houses on the PRR, which used compressed air to throw switches in many locations.

That's a home run, Bamos. Your street looks amazing, too. Notice you got brass rail going on,
something I always liked.

Excellent shanty! Looks really similar to the AHM/LL molds from the 70s.
The crossing came out nice too!
