I just finished my NYC diorama. Spider-man and the Hulk battle it out (circa 1969).

Excellent! I really like how you pull these together. The tower to the left I had on my layout as a kid. I was looking for a new one when I still had space to build.

Thanks. You definitely need to know how to improvise. That is the key to this hobby. I've seen people far more creative than myself make buildings and works of art out of ordinary household items. My Grandfather was one of those people. The building to the far left was made by a German company called Faller. They've been in business since the 1940's. Not sure when this one was made, but it's definitely old. I found it on ebay.

Nice one David.

Probably got the idea from this classic comic book cover.

I expanded the NYC dio today. Added 2 new lanes, proper parking with meters, more cars, more people, new vintage billboards, and more...

Your Grandfather was a man with my kind of heart. I love making use of various random stuff on my Fox Valley layout. The Faller tower I had back in the 1960's so it's at least that old. Nice collection of cars.

I added more backgrounds to the side wall. I think it adds more realism.
