My latest completed project is an ALco T6. T6s were never very common, and N&W had about 2/3 of all built. This is an Alco Models brass version, which I assume dates from the late 60s, early 1970s. That;s just about the time frame that the last T6, which was Alco's last locomotive, was built. N&W 41 is a survivor. Ironically among the first of N&W's 40 to be retired, it found new life on shortline Chesapeake Western where it and sister 40 replaced three Baldwin switchers. This move undoubtedly saved the locomotive, as it lasted long enough to be preserved and restored to its original paint.
Here the real N&W 41 rests at CUmberland, MD at the Western Maryland station in 2007. I have no idea where this locomotive went from here, but I never saw it again.
