OK. She's all in one piece and runable now. Now the darn pinion gear is loose and won't stay on the shaft of the motor! Now what?

I've used a small drop of super glue in the past. Just make sure you don't get any in the motor.

What I do for a loose pinion gear is very carefuly punch the shaft with a very small punch about 3 times and use super glue.

I think I'd carefully punch the gear itself in the center, on both sides, to shrink the hole size some. Not sure how that metal would react to the stress , though. It should be soft enough to endure a small deformity without cracking ( better be sure you have a spare, just in case! Come to think of it, I have several that are stripped, I could try that on one of them to see how it works )

Check the size of both the shaft and the gear? Could

If it was THAT far off, I think it would be rather noticeable . And I don't think the PT came in two different shaft sizes, they were all the same armature diameter, weren't they?

as far as i know their all the same size. how are you putting the glue on? i put just a little on the shaft, then i use a small piece of wire & dip it in a puddle of super glue & use it to put glue inside the gear.
