I need to find the Athearn SE set that has 2 U 30c's in it. I saw one on the "site" and it went too high for my budget.

Any help is appreciated, Randy

The "site" is probably the only place you may find one. This set is very hard to find and is one of the most scarce SE sets. I managed to get one awhile back and it wasnt cheap for me either.

Geez, I missed getting that PC set at MB Kleins here in Baltimore for 35.00.
I seen it one day,but didnt have the cash,so I returned the next day to buy it,but it was gone.

Sorry Larry, I threw a bid of $135 at it and was sure that I would win it but I didn't. I guess that you had put a higher bid on it.

This set is the only one that I need now to have a complete SE collection. (as far as I know)

I am also working on the 40 and 45 foot trailers.

LOL no hard feelings. Im a collector - I expect to pay more money for rare and hard to find stuff. Good luck on your search. I think I saw a set earlier this year on there.

Made in 2000 that's going to be a hard one to get although I have seen some singles for sale

SE I assume means Special Edition. I did a quick search of Ebay,and found 3 with GPs, etc. Does this U30C set have more than one road name, or is it only one to be had? I am going to the Timonium train show in June, and can look. What's your price range, and the specifics of this set?

Hi Jerry, there were many SE sets. The 2200 series was the engines while the 2300 series was the cars and cabooses.

#2229 has black, Penn Central U boats; cab numbers 6540 (dummy) and 6557 (powered). These are both U-33C's.

I would want to stay in the $100 or less range. I am on a fireman's pension and have to watch my purchases pretty closely.

2 PC shells 6557 with the Red P in PC just sold on E bay the other unit is regular B&W lettering
