I saw a general on ebay for BIN @ $59.99 and was in good shape. The whistle detail is missing though and seller says it runs but the wire that connect the motor is all ate up!
Is this a good deal?

I'd say it's in line with much of what I've seen asked for them. The wire can be replaced. Long as it runs, it's not a great deal, but it's a fair price for what I've seen them going for. I got one at a local train show a few months ago for $40 plus 3 old time passenger cars with it, complete, some paint chipping. Does move, but jerkily. At another local show a few months ago, guy had 3 of them, priced from $65 to 90 each. Not sure if they ran or not. So you wouldn't be overpaying at 60 imho. Now it's your call.
