This is an early built up , I believe it was made by TYCO,,I have had this building since around 1976ish, in decent shape considering all of the moves and years in storage. Just needs a new light bulb.

Tyco sold these from 1970 to 1982. a bit more about can be found here http://www.ho-scaletrains.net/tycokitsandbuildings/id27.html

Lighted Factory! Or in this case, non-lighted. It's a pretty neat building, I have a kit version although I'm not sure I'll paint it pink and blue. What are the people inside doing?

Actually the factory come assembled and is not a kit. I have one stored away and I'm certain that the pinkish color is factory and probably the blue also...

Mine is 100% original paint! The pink will eventualy grow on you after a spell. There is a certain amount of sun bleaching as this model was once in a 2d story extra bedroom layout with windows that faced south and west.
Tykowolf,,it is a machine shop of some sort. Maybe they make 2/56 screws for Athearn. Perhaps those are plastic mould injection clamps making Truetrack roadbed for Atlas or models of the same factory or rolling stock for Tyco, and the guys working the crate in the background are getting the crate ready to send to the paint shop.
There was another figure, long since lost, outside just a bit to the left of the main door. If you look carefully at the sidewalk you can see a bit of color where he once stood.

JBSmith , I thought your building was as original. I have never thought of the pink color being an issue. I like the factory just as Tyco produced it..

tis alright! for years i planned on painting it grey but never got around to it. The pinkish color grew on me with age and now i can't bring myself to alter its colors.

My BOTW is also the pink and blue shop, just found and bought it yesterday at Spring Carlisle auto flea, $5 took it home. Looks like a couple figures missing judging by previous posts, but I DID get a RR crossing sign with the building. Someone commented that it's not lighted, but mine is, has the light fixture inside, see the pictures I'm posting on it. Gotta be original. Here they come -

The vendor said the roof would come off, and it does, wasn't glued down, just a loose fit, it DOES catch on an overhang at the chimney, so even unglued, I had to wiggle carefully to get it out from under that part, but you can see the details better this way. Neat piece, glad I bought it!

The Tyco factory did come with a light in it when new. I'm sure over time some of the light bulbs and wiring assemblies have been removed.

Struck by lightning and made unto dust? Biblical!
Haven't decided what colour my IHC kit version will be painted yet but your idea of it being a model train factory greatly appeals. Made in Tycoville and not in China!
