Hi Guys, Here is my latest project I'm working a 18kt Gold General.I have a good start and should be done as soon as my new parts come from Dan and I get them gold plated. I would like to have any comments. Thanks. Ken FIDDLEHEAD RAILWAY CO.Edited by - DaCheez on April 10 2011 2:57:55 PM

I think the gold-painted coal is a bit much, the gold color could use some offsetting contrasts to really highlight how GOOD it does look being gold! That's a neat idea, Ken. I like it, overall.

The plating I am doing myself. The wood load looks too shinning but that's the way to light hits it. I would like to do contrasting colours but can't deside what would look best. I am thinking black that seams to show up better. anyone have a suggestion. Ken FIDDLEHEAD RAILWAY CO.

I could see deep red wheels with black highlights on the loco. Just enough of the highlights to tone down the glare.

Hi Jerry, I went to a large craft store and found out how I can do it without electro plating . I use gold leaf and Krylon 18kt gold leafing pen. The pen works great and the gold leaf is a little messy. They both do a good job. I then clear coat to make it stable.Once I clear coat and it is dry I rub it down with a soft cloth. Works for me.
