Hi there:

Anyone on the forum got a Penn Line GG-1 and if so what has your experience been. I just bought one off Ebay. It's only my second "Vintage" HO purchase. The other was a Phase 1-Rivarossi powered Tyco Super 630 in SF paint.

Cheers,
Gareth

Gareth,

I'd be curious to see the paint scheme on your early Santa Fe TYCO Super630. TYCO's pre-production pics showed the model with yellow outlined numberboards...does yours have this? If you could, share some pics with us.

Hi Tony:

I remember you mentioning that, when I posted that I had bought it off Ebay. It hasn't arrived yet because of the Holiday/ Pres. Gerald Ford Day of mourning disruptions but as soon as it does I'll post Pickys!

Penn-Line GG1s come in two types old and older. The oldest have metal drive axel inclosures, side frames, and nose weights. On the newer ones the metal parts are replaced with plastic and the nose weights no longer used. Bolts use ols seleadum wafer rectifiers. The rectifiers have nothing to do with motor direction, only directional lighting. As to can they good? Yes, if like anything they are maintained. Here are some of my Penn-Line GG1s.
