The last project off my bench in 2010: A new breed of MOW equipment for when things go to heck. What can you do with 12,500+ gallons of sodium hydroxide? Remember folks, it's the collateral damage that sparks the apocalypse!

A zombie-killing tanker? Someone has WAY too much time on their hands these days! Nice detailing, though, very thorough. Like it!

Brian - Funny. My road's normal reporting marks are "STC", but MOW equipment gets "SCM". This is a nod to the first car I did as a kid, before I changed them. Also, before adopting its new image, the Saint Canard Midland used "SCMD". So they all sort of fit together.
Ben - Thanks. The "upside-down" marks are deliberate. I wanted markings visible from above (as many tankers have in real life)... but did not want the text to seem redundant when the car was viewed in profile.
Eaglerock - Heh heh, I'm glad that gag is appreciated. There's another "easter egg" in the build/new date.
This car was fun to do. I'll be keeping my eye open for more of these from now on. I need to paint up the pumping apparatus a little more. But another friend on FB quipped "THAT should be a fun car to weather", ha ha! In actuality this is an idler/ coupler transition car in my actual track cleaning MOW consist.

Awesome Zombie Killer! Keeping the fun in railroading I see.
Here's a recent tanker I picked up. A very early Mantua Quaker State tank car.

Wow. We should have a new forum called "stump Carl" and see if we can come up with something that either doesn't exist, or he doesn't have. =) Just kidding good sir... you know your knowledge and collection is much enjoyed and appreciated (enviously, ha ha).
In all seriousness though, who actually made that car? I'm pretty sure the Lionel boxcar was just the donor base... Lionel was just about done with HO again when TMI happened.
The note on the door is a nice touch ;) Especially since a standard ol' sliding door would be leaking so many REMs as to make it pointless...

I have been cataloging Items and I happen to have the TMI Car's Picture file Handy. The car came in a unmarked Lionel box. Just hand written on flap... They must have had some undecorated Cars. Bev Bel also use Lionel Cars for some of their custom Paint...
Years ago when I opened the door there was some markings stamped on the weight. It was a Up side down Triangle Logo. with the words Newbraugh Brothers Toys, Berkley Springs, West Virginia. There is a number 567-1129 and also a Diamond shape logo with The PVP Co.
Here is link to a Webpage I found. Has some info on the company... They are still in Business.. I'm going to contact them and see if they have any other information on the Car..

Love the zombie unit. I'm a big fan of George Romero's movies and all the imitators that filled the 70's and 80's cinema.
It may be a while before I get around to my COTW. I've still got 7 inches of snow between me and the garage.

Picked up today at a LHS, one of my few AC Gilbert cars, a reefer. Funny thing about it, it seems to be missing the inside floor! The doors are glued shut, as is the bottom chassis to the yellow shell. Maybe it had one at one time? I don't know much about Gilbert rolling stock, but for $2.99, I wasn't complaining.

First I'd heard of the CIM roadname, too. Interesting car.

Just think That this is how the military moves nuke warheads. When they need to dispose of warheads they are put on a train generally. Nice cars though. They look great.
