I acquired so much stuff, I had to take an extra trip to the Jeep so I wouldn't have to haul all those bags around. LOL. Wonderful time Saturday, loads of deals and bargains if you looked. here's some highlights of my day....

Found a nice lone C&O passenger car for under $10, so I picked it up.

Some decent Tyco finds, two BN additions. First time I'd seen the magnetic barrels, I bet THESE get lost easily!

The dealer thought people had passed this deal by, an Indianapolis 500 state car. I didn't pass it by, I wanted it for my NASCAR consist, so it'll join the other racecar themed consist I'm building. $10. Nice!

This car might give you the munchies. BOught it for Microbuss, if he doesn't mind LL instead of Tyco ( did Tyco do a Doritos? ). $3 brought it home.

A pleasant surprise, a nice Playart Minutemaid tanker, seen'em on Ebay but never found one cheap. I think $5 I paid for it.

Other buys were a surprising diversity of Thrall door cars, I've for some reason got a thing for them now, so I am trying to find as many different variations/roadnames as possible, and I found about 6 this show, all different than ones I've gotten, one from Netherlands, too.

Found a Marx coal hopper sans trucks in a $1 bin ,since the new Model Power trucks are exact dupes, and I bought some recently, should have this one back on track soon.

I bought a couple GP engine shells and a B unit C&O shell for a few bucks each. Other than the AHM / Rivarossi GG1 I bought, I didn't find any other complete engines worth my wallet contents this show. But I spent enough on rolling stock this time, I think!

Also picked up a boxed HO C&O Lionel gondola, I think I'm close on having a decent HO Lionel consist now. Might need a caboose, not sure.

Items I passed on but had 2nd thoughts later - found a blue Domino's Sugar caboose. I thought that was a rare/hard to find item, only $6, but I was conserving cash, so I passed on it. Kinda wish I had bought it. One guy had a stack of HO Streamline ( very vintage '50's? ) aluminum extruded passenger cars, $10 apiece. I bought 2 in Florida in November at a LHS, could have added to them with these. Some silver C&O Rivarossi passenger cars I liked, but he only had 2 kinds, a combine and sleeper. Not enough for a decent train.

I saw TONS of N gauge stuff , with much vintage rolling stock selling in the $5-8 range, considering a few years ago it was hard to find any under $15, this is bargain city if you're into N at all. I dabble a bit. I did buy a tri-level autoloader for $8. * Steal * !

All in all, a great show and a great deal of bargains. Glad I went, these past few months have been a bonanza of show finds and deals of all kinds that I liked. I need to tone it down starting 2011 , I'm over-budget on train stuff, so will take a break from acquisitions I think. Just a few here and there. LOL. Hope you enjoyed my stuff as much as I will soon.

Nice finds Jerry! I have always thought of buying the Mantua Indiana Indy 500 Box Car. But I have yet to do so...

The triple axle trucks are tops on my Look-for Tyco parts list, but so far, I've seen none for sale anywhere other than ebay, and those they wanted $7 for?! . Seen a few Tyco tankers WITH them for $4-5, but kinda defeats the purpose.
There were actually some Mantua boxed NFL cars there ( Philly, Dallas, Giants, Miami, among others ), but I had no interest in them myself....although I did look for a Rams version. Actually, another guy had a St. Louis Rams NFL boxcar, but at $22, I didn't want it that bad.

Only all over the place, PT, were a few nothing-but-diecast vendors there, but they wanted good money for the vintage Lesney Matchbox stuff, like 10-20 per car in some cases. I don't go there usually. I did look for Johnny Lightning cars, found a few, but nothing I needed/wanted badly. Same for Matchbox, Hotwheels, and any other diecasts. Just nothing I wanted to adopt. I pawed through the dollar bins and trays, but I didn't bring home a single diecast this time, usually I get at least one. I don't think the N gauge tri-level with plastic cars counts, either. LOL.

Didn't the crane cars also have triple axle trucks? I could have sworn they did. If you get a junker as part of a ebay lot, you can scavenge the trucks off of that. That's how I have some extra trucks here (you can't get them - they're to be used on a tanker that came with two axle trucks).

The Tyco crane and the tri-dome bomb both use the same 3-axle trucks, and are the only Tycos that do so. Bachmann has similar trucks but the mounting pins are thicker. I believe the Pemco, Playart, Model Power, Life-Like, and first Bachmann clones of the Tyco tri-dome use different trucks as well, but I will have to confirm this later.

I hate those stupid tankers. They're kind of a fascinating anachronism and fun to look at but they really make no sense at all, and are a PITA to boot.

Your best source for replacement trucks is probably a Tyco Gulf tridome. There are millions of them out there so they are not really pursued.
