This started life as a Life-Like Dickerson Station. I rebuilt it for my layout and gave it some paint.
I got a new camera today....let me know if the first pic is slow to load. I may have to play around with some settings

Hey DaCheez, who made the trees? That neat station makes for a fantastic Autumn scene. Well done.
I've been thinking about Busss's gantry crane I'm curious about how difficult it is to pick up a piggyback trailer using the hook? Not so easy, I reckon.

Thanks! I used Woodland Scenics trees and foliage for the autumn colours.

Didn't know Woodland Scenics made trees but of course they wood would. I have some evergreen trees by... Lima, I think? They are not much chop compared to your beauties!

You can buy them pre-made or in kits. I don't believe I've ever seen Lima trees I know I have some Life-Like pine trees on my layout, but they just don't compare to the Woodland Scenics trees.

My trees look just like the Life-Like pines, probably from the same forest! And it's true, there is no comparison. I'm glad the Woodland ones come ready-made. I've heard trees are fun to make - for the first four or five, perhaps!

I'd imagine it would be like assembling the utility poles for powerlines Although it does give a good sense of accomplishment once everything's finished The WS tree kits don't seem to bad actually. You twist and bend the branches, then stretch some foliage over top.

Buss, have you ever used white paint a little watered down and rubbed it on a brick surface wiping it off leaving red bricks and white motor between them. Every time I do it, it doesn't work. white stays on some of the brick to. frank

hey frank acrylics are best for that as they act like water based paint whilst wet, paint small area then with a damp cloth wipe of excess, with as little pressure to cloth, works for me ken ps i use a very pale cream rather than white, for really old buildings khaki or sand

I think I used regular old Testor's white enamel for this engine house. I also think I thinned it a bit so it was more of a wash than solid paint. You also don't want to wipe in the direction of the mortar lines, as you'll wipe the paint right out of them. Try more of a diagonal.
I believe I painted it pre-assembly, which makes things a lot easier.
I like the slight haze and uneven look, too, because old buldings are, well, unevenly colored. (Soot is pastel chalk. Roof is painted IIRC with black primer and then dusted lightly with grey primer.)

Not slow, but backwards? Did you flip the picture, or is that number board on the wall behind the station just hanging backwards?
