To start a fresh week of AOTW, here's a neat item I acquired on the 13th, from a guy divesting himself of childhood items. I've never seen one of these signboard/whistle accessories, at first glance I thought it was a boxcar, then I saw the green box and found it interesting. I've never tried one, so it whistles? Someone explain it to me.

Microbuss wanted to see both sides, so here they are. Neat item! So, does the track run across it like a bridge, what do you actually DO with this accessory? I'm lacking the concept here.

| One thing I've noticed is that with out the signs on it, it doesn't really whistle.

| Thanks for the link MB, I always wondered what one of those sounds like. Not quite what I thought it would be, much more mechanical than I expected. That explains why it's so thick.

| Mine "growled" like the one in the video, I took it a part and lightly oiled the moving parts, no more growl.

| Great link. I didn't know Tony was on YouTube. Too bad he's not around here more.
