Late last night I thought to myself about going to the local hobby shop called "The Smoke Stack". This is a very nice place FULL of trains, model kits, RC planes & cars. They normally have some boxes with used Tyco & other trains, building etc. I found the following few items

Bachmann Whitehouse Cider tanker for $3.... The owner ask me if the trucks was worth a dollar and I said yes and handed him $6. He said, No, I meant $1 for all three of them!.. we talked a minute and I handed him a $5 and told him to keep it. It was a fun time and I should go more often. I drive right by the shop almost daily

I've never seen that Whitehouse Cider tanker before, it's brilliant! How does the Bachmann long triple tanker differ from the Tyco model, walt?

Tykowolf, I believe the Bachmann & Tyco 3 dome tanker is of the same mold. The wheel trucks is the only thing that appear different a little. I have two of these now. The few times I have seen them on Ebay, they have been advertised as a Tyco. A good lookin' piece. The lower section is dark green (hard to see in the photo)

Thanks for the tanker info, walt. I saw a hint of green on Cidar tank and figured the colour as such. If some unboxed Tyco triple tankers are ever mistaken for Bachmann, it could be good way to find the rarer Tyco models.

Just one block from the hobby shop today, I decided to stop in. Found one more cattle trailer that I added to the earlier three I found on Friday... The used Tyco box had been moved in the shop and was easier to look thru.. A few incomplete common cars was in the box, a couple of HO buildings and pieces & parts of everything...

If you mean Local Hobby Shop, 35rem Ditto on that I gotta go 200 miles to Denver area to do the same Which I did on Nov 6th to a model train show then hit the good local hobby shop after train show. I was at train show for 3 hours! Got awesome stuff from both places Including this from train shop!

Yep, LHS = Local Hobby Shop.
They've all closed. There is a Hobby Lobby on the way...
You would think there would be enough folks around to support one. Town is 65K, area served about double that...

I know, that's why the

The one in Auburn still sells sets (4 HO, 2 N). They have some modeling stuff and Woodland scenics, etc. Not a total loss.

Nearest hobby shop is probably 100 miles.

Antique store owners usually think that Tyco stuff is worth a small fortune even when it's in horrrible condition. Ebay is the place to find train items. I do credit ebay & online sales to the demise of our , local hobby shops....
