According to the instruction for the Mantua metal gondola kits, a person had to buy the cardboard stock roadname sides seperately. How many different road names were made for this one kit? I know they made these three sides. Rock Island, Baltimore & Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

| Hi Larry. Metal Gondola Sides I have: ATSF The Scout, Central Of Georgia, Erie, Pennsylvania, B & O. I also have sides for Hoppers, Boxcars, Reefers And Tank Cars. I do not know if there was a list of all the available sets. You just Looked In a Tray with all the sets and picked one out for what ever car you purchased. Carl

It would be interesting to have a list of these cardstock items. I have searched my Mantua ads and litature and have found very little reference to this information with the exception of the boxcar sides. I started a list if anyone is interested in adding to it.

Hi Larry. Was going though my old Mantua catalogues. I found information on what was available. Over the years Mantua added cars and road names and the largest list I found was in the 1948 Catalogue. There is a list of all the Sides available up till then along with the stock number and Price for each. Starting With Number 9400 ending with 9461. I will Have the list typed out to add to your web site Later. Talk to you soon Carl
