Daily Planet News
METROPOLIS----A disaster was narrowly avoided today when a ridiculously large tank car full of Coca-Cola lost one of its trucks while being hauled through busy downtown Metropolis. Fortunately, Superman was on the scene and was able to catch the crashing tanker before any damage was done. Investigators and local dentists suspect that the high acid content of the popular carbonated beverage may have eroded the tanker and caused the accident.

So all kidding aside, anybody got a 6 wheel truck for sale or trade? I got this for free today at a train show. I bought the Shell triple dome thinking I would put one of its trucks on here, but I'd like to have them both working.

I will add my Sohio Tanker. No broken trucks , no superman needed!
Thank You Ben T for the Dumpster-Cam photo!
Burlington77, I like your flower power sheet or what ever is showing up in your photos.. Reminds me of an old Hotwheels VW bus I once had!

Thanks, but that's just a cheap vinyl tablecloth from Wal-Mart. My wife changes them according to the season, so that's the "summer" version. I've just been doing quick photos lately on my dining room table.
But now that you mention it, some people's photos have some pretty interesting backgrounds. I think Microbusss's are the best, even when they're not on the dumpster.

It looks good Burlington, I had an aqua green Hotwheels Redline VW bus when I was a kid. I got some decals from what I believe was a Mini Lindy kit which was a recent subject on here. The decals used were flowers such as the ones on your table cloth in small scale. If I remember correctly, the bus was tastefully done & looked pretty cool! A little hippy bus when I was 12

Sounds like fun, Walt. Many of my HotWheels have the wheels ground off from school playground use. There was a little 3 ft. or so high concrete retaining wall that ran the length of the playground. That was our "highway."
Mike--nice tanker. That's the other one I got today. I was going to sacrifice it's wheels to the Coke tanker, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Sounds like there is a genuine need for replacement trucks.

There's a guy selling these tankers on ebay with 4 wheel metal trucks. I guess we could all go 4 wheel, but it just doesn't seem right.

I like that. I'm a boxcar collector, and that one is simple and classic.

Walt, the Sohio tanker's a treat, very clean lines. Don't have any triple dome tankers myself. But I got LOADS of boxcars... well, 9 actually.
My box car's so bright, I gotta wear shades! Bachmannn Silver Series freight cars form the backbone of my rolling stock roster and while the level of detail varies for each model, generally I find them excellent value.
