Below is an auction on ebay that I noticed and would have bid on. Then I seen the $7.50 shipping cost from only the next state east. These trucks weigh nothing... I'm certain a small box at First Class USPS would go to the West Coast for less than $3.... These ridiculous shipping costs take all the fun out of bidding, or not bidding I might add...

I agree 100%. This has really been p#@*%ng me off lately. There have been more than a few Tyco cars I wanted to bid on, but the shipping was nearly $10! For one car! It's ridiculous. I don't care if it's a bit slower, I don't want to pay a lot for shipping, especially to pay more than what the item is worth.
Now the contrast is a car I received today--it will go in COTW when I get a chance---I paid just over a dollar for the car and three something to ship it. That's a good deal.

You're absolutely right Burlington77, I've been shipping some of these items for years now. There's no sense in the high shipping costs. I'd rather pay more for the item & less for S&H.
I'm not one that expects anything for nothing, I just wish some of these sellers would discover that the First Class USPS ships at the same speed as priority for much less money.
Like you said, even a slow shipping method is fine. It's no emergency that I get a toy train in a big hurry...

| I too have noticed OVER IN FLATED Shipping charges on everything on ebay - When i sell it is actual cost and offer cheapest options. I collect die-cast and some sellers trying to charge $6.00 and more to ship one vehicle that weighs less than 13oz

Here's another one:

It's a decent car. I'd pay a few dollars for it. But $10 just for shipping? No way! The car isn't worth $10 itself.

Studies have shown that people will tolerate only a certain amount of taxation before they start cheating. I'll bet the same phenomena is occurring with the ebay fees, people (ie, Sellers) are tired of paying (and doing) more and more in order to sell ( I haven't sold anything in quite some time, it's gotten to be a hassle ) so they have started to inflate the other fees to get their money they think they deserve. I think the Taxation rate limit was 15-20%, anything higher and people started cheating and hiding and under-reporting. Not sure about Ebay, but with more and more "rules" to follow for sellers, it's not an unrestricted ( and hence, easier ) seller market anymore. Heck, God only asks for 10%, so why is the gov't entitled to more? Or anyone ELSE more? Ah well, the market will eventually sort it out. Where else would I find BL-2's and Tyco Auto-loaders?

The government wants to be our god.
AMC, you are right; the market will sort it out. I wanted an item on ebay. Too high shipping. Waited one week, the same item came up with $2.10 shipping. Show some restraint folks, we are the market. There was an automotive item I wanted for my truck. Shipping was outrageous. I contacted the seller, made a low offer on the item, which when combined with the shipping came out to what I thought was an o.k. price. Seller agreed to it. Don't mind someone adding a dollar or two but, profits from shipping belong to Fedex, UPS, etc. These people that list a TYCO engine for .99cents and $15.oo shipping, don't get my business.
Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.
