this along with a lot of other stuff came in a box from a garage sale.

It was in pieces which i assembled up to the small yellow and black wheels.

Have no idea where they go.

It seems there is something missing that should go on top of the flat car but what??

any idea the make?

thank you

Well, it's got body-mounted couplers, and it's long, so I doubt it's one of the BLT variety ( Bachmann/LifeLike/Tyco ). I don't see any holes or slots in the top where anything might mount, so it could just be a plain ol' flat car, 50' . Might try getting the roadname and car # off it, and searching Google or Ebay for a match.

My guess for manufacturer would be Roundhouse, based on the screw-on coupler covers.

I don't see the brake wheel rod, so maybe that's missing.

The other bits on the sprue are the brake rigging, which glue into those holes underneath the car. You could make 'stakes' to go in the holes along the edges, but I don't recall if Roundhouse included those (Athearn had metal stakes that came with their kits).

wow thanks. you people know your stuff

how do you get the semi truck to stick.

It's a long sucker so on an 18" R it hangs out a bit.

I'll have to use my best judgement where to stick the black and yellow wheels, there is one tiny hole

I'll bet tooth picks would make good stakes

I forgot to mention the horn hook couplers are very stiff and will at times derail what ever is attached.

I'm thinking of clipping off the whiskers on the couplers . Right now can't afford to convert to knuckle on all rolling stock

You might try loosening the screw on the coupler box, and if that doesn't work you can work on the coupler. Try to widen the hole a little or sand the whole end of the coupler down a little to make it thinner and smoother. They can be a problem sometimes on Athearn and Roundhouse cars. Knuckles are probably the best answer, but if you work on it the horn hooks can be made to work.
