My train set of the week is The Lifelike Limited Edition "Life Magazine" Train Set. The set marks the many years and most noted events over the years of life Magazine stories. One in particular was the Kiss heard round the world. The picture that is on the Box showing a Sailor Kissing a Nurse in Times square, NYC on V-J day August 14,1945. For many years No one knew who they were, then finally the Edith Shain claimed it was her. But, to this day no one knows the Sailor. Recently the Nurse pass away at the age of 91. Here is a link to the news article.

Great set, VintageHO. How long must we wait for Proto 1000 freight car reruns? Meanwhile...
All Hail The Superchief!!

Above is the first train set I ever bought; some new-old stock blue box Alcos with half a dozen new-new stock streamliner cars, a trackpack and peopled platform. I confess, this was meant to be a Proto 2000 PA/PB with Walthers 8-car Superchief set but when my reality cheque bounced, a kindly dealer took pity and put together this bundle for a super knockout price.
To this day, The Superchief remains my very favourite train. Peace out

Ahh! That's veru useful, Ken. I've been trying to decide what colour to paint the horns on my PA, red or yellow. Now I've got silver to consider as well!

Perhaps the only train set I covet.
Saw this sell on EvilBay a year or two ago. should have jumped on it. Anyone actually have one?

Just thought it would have allowed a kid a lot of RRing oppurtunity!

I don't have any Tyco sets, unfortunately, mixed or otherwise! But I do have a Model Power Canadian Tea & Sugar set. I shall post pics in next weeks SOTW.
