AF Kid. Very Nice find. I have not seen one with that Number on it. Maybe they ran out of the 4301 boards and used the 5628 . I have two of the 4301 Type. Now I have going to have to do some research. Carl

That is a good looking engine with the odd number on it. I'm not one that cares very much on details such as that on my hobby trains & items, but I must say it is interesting to have one that different!

Well - since it is a Mantua /Tyco and not a Tyco - 5628 is common on some of these loco's as is 4301. The 5628 number board is not strictly for GP20 as Mantua /Tyco Alco 430 engines had this on the number board too. My opinion - your loco is rare due to it having 5628 stamped on it and it being from factory. I haven't seen one in this road with 5628 before either. Mantua /Tyco engines commonly have the mantua drive in them identified by the silver tab under window area on locomotive - but there are a few in the transition period that have the early pt motors as i own one in the Spirit of 76 scheme that are marked Mantua/Tyco on fuel tank weight. Great Find!! You now will have the collectors of this engine going mad trying to find another one!
