I have the red Great Northern one, nice car but very lightweight. Have to run it toward the rear of any train.

Well...that explains the little gold prop in one of my scrap box purchases...

Hi Carl T. . They should have used diecast props like Authenticast made, not the plastic props. This way it would have added some weight to the car. I know I have a few somewhere. Have to find them. Carl

I just got one of these and it has no added extra weight. Do any of yours have weights?

AHM stuff was usually light, but I would expect to see a thin steel weight inside.

find someone who would do a cast of them with pewter. No one says a good fix is incorrect. Some AHM locomotives were not very heavy pullers. Their ALCO 628... more roar than bearing weight. er, bigger bark than bite, I mean.
Check, please.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

I have about 3 of these as well. One's missing a prop. And mine are light, too, no extra weights, since they punched the prop holder through the base, I imagine it would have required a specially made weight, so they just didn't add it. Not that difficult to add weight though. I hope to acquire a few more boat flats to go with these, to make a sea-themed consist.

I would just find the right sized crate, put weight in it and set it between the props so that you're not damaging the original model.
Jerry....I know where there's a prop...
Nice models, Carl...
