I agree that replacing the original mounts is the way to go. They are probably still available through a hobby shop. If that doesn't work, they can be readily found on ebay. If you don't want to use the mounts, you can use clear silicon sealent to "glue" the motor to the frame. But you may need to build up some kind of motormount to glue the motor to. Otherwise, the motor may sit too low and cause binding in the drive shafts.

Hi Steve. If your referring to a Athearn PA-1 Engine you can get the mounts from any LHS. I just bought some. They come in a pack of 12. Part number ATH84020 Cost $4.50 for a pack of 12 (6 Pair)
Fits all of the Athearn engines, except some of the Switchers. Like SW 1500, SW 3.
If they do not have them, They should be able to order them. Still available from Athearn. Carl

That's assuming he still has a LHS. I know I don't, and it seems like they're all fading fast.

I'll be interested to see how the PA 1 runs when you're finished. I've got one, and it won't stay on the track.

Update: I reordered some Motor Mounts Part number ATH84020 at my LHS. In fact it is the only one around. Lost about 6 stores during the past 10 years.

Last time I purchased them in May 2010 they Cost $4.50 for a pack of 12 (6 Pair).

The ones I just picked up were $5.98 a pack. That is a 35% increase.
I just got my raise at my job. 2.2% Increase . That's $5.00 more a Week after TAXES.
I just spent $1.50 of it on Athearn Motor mounts... Oh well
