I bought a Cox SF freight GP9 at a show NOS and when I ran it at home it sounded like a MU2. I realized when I bought that it had similar engineering as the MU2 but thought that's as far as the similarity went. The paint is very nice and it has stamped metal handrails like the early GE six axle that AHM made, the one that uses the similar drive as the first Mantua Tyco S630s. I've read the Cox guide but does anyone know anything else? I can't post a pic due to tech difficulties.

Didn't Cox sell some Athearn made locos? The stamped handrails don't sound like Athearn, though, but I think they sold products form multiple manufacturers. The only diesel I've seen with those is the Rivarossi U25C that you referred to. Does it have an MU-2 power truck, or are both trucks driven with a centrally mounted motor?

It has the front truck powered with the motor in the front truck similar to the MU2s but the design is different. I think it's a really nice loco that runs like an MU2.
The U25c was the one I was refering to with the stamped handrails. I noticed that in an earlier post Catfordken posts his Championship Cox Geep and it has delrin looking handrails.
Microbusss thanks but we had the computer to the shop 2x in the last three weeks and when it came back this time it won't edit pictures and I just found that out this am.
