Just got these today, an original Wathers "Tongue-in-Cheek" series "Oscar" and "Piker"...slightly battered but complete and with full interiors. They'll give me some down time brain candy putting them back together.

I bought some of those a few years ago at a train show, maybe $10 apiece. Those are EXPENSIVE on Ebay, they go high ever time I see them! Cute, though. Two of mine are both still kits, and one is partially built. Thanks for posting those, i'd forgotten I had them. Wonder where I put'em?

I've got a Walthers Piker myself...equipped with Kadee's and working diaphragms, although it hasn't had a roof since I got it:

The paper interior is really something!

Hi All,
Those are nifty little cars. I don't have any of those, so this Popsicle car will be my entry this week. The Great One gave me a misc. box she picked up for me on Saturday. This was one of the cars in it. Sorry to say that a Bachmann hopper gave it's trucks so that this Tyco may live.
Thanks for looking.

Got this a few weeks ago from my rivet counter friend. He had a bunch of them he was dumping so I picked one up. Its a Con-Cor 54' mill gondola.

Walthers sold the Piker and Oscar kits as a way of introducing modellers to their passenger car kits. The tiny cars assembled like the full length cars. You got to form the roof ends and add the interior detail and you then learned how easy or difficult assembling the regular length kit would be.
I remember a guy who had the two cars pulled by an MDC box cab. It was a really funny little train. Last I saw him, he was working on taking an MDC express reefer and shortening it to one truck to match the Piker and Oscar.
