I've been trying for some time to find Central valley 6-wheel trucks for some old Walthers passenger cars, several are the Circus cars. Every time I see them on Ebay, they sell for $12-18 per PAIR. There's a huge lot on their now, 32 pairs, and it's at $132, one day left. That's pretty cheap by averaging, but not all are 6-wheels, about half are 4-wheel trucks. And I'm sure it'll go higher. Is there any other comparable quality truck that will work with the old Walthers passenger cars? Pretty incredible that these out-of-production units are still bringing such high prices. They must be worth it, or people wouldn't spend that kind of dime to get them. I think I need T-31's, T-22's are also another option. Both are 6-wheeled units.

Amazing, when I was young, I should have invested in plastic the way people price the stuff...

Are there any local train shows you can go to? I find much better deals at train shows.
Precision Scale sells the sideframes for 6 wheel trucks but, by the time you buy the wheels/axles
you might have 12 bucks spent already.

Oh, yes, plenty of shows around, but then trying to FIND them , and in good condition ( since they're no longer made, they're vintage stuff, and you won't find them at new parts dealers ) is very difficult. You may find one only. I haven't had much luck finding them at shows, either. Not many dealers bring junk boxes to sell stuff, and when they do, you rarely find these trucks, it's Tyco or Bachmann or Atlas. Rarely the good stuff. The few I have found are usually bent or missing parts. One local hobby shop sells vintage stuff as well, and I JUST missed some sets when I went in a few months ago, he said he had some, then thought about it, and said one guy had bought them all previously. The good stuff goes fast! I'm not in a position financially right now to buy enough to fix the 8-10 cars I have that need them ( they're all missing the trucks, just the bodies ), so unless I can find equivalent replacements ( all trucks sold now seem to fit modern passenger cars, not the old vintage stuff ). guess that's why they're selling so high on Ebay, hard to find replacement trucks that match the modeled year. Modern trucks would look out of place on wooden passenger cars. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
