This crossing originally had cantilever signals back in 1988 - they were new at the time --what they did with them after CSX abandoned the line shortly after -no one knows -but has angered many who have attended public meetings on this P&N restoration project as to what happend to all the signals removed as many at the time were new. All signals will be re-installed and many crossings that didn't have them will. This crossing is scheduled to get new cantilevers re-installed

Nice to see a line being put back into service. Who took it over will it be a shortline or something? Any chance of commuter travel or not really?

Chris C - Yes it will be a short line operator - who no one knows yet. They will have interchange rights with CSX and NS. The video above as the truck appraoches is coming from Belmont which is served by NS which the lilne doesn't connect to at this time - but the line does connect to CSX in Mt. Holly. However the line from Mt.Holly -CSX connection point to the End in Gastonia which has the NS connection. CSX would have trackage rights as well as NS to detour or use their trains if neccesary on this track stretch
