Does anyone have an HO Lionel rotating beacon? Mine is really loud and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to quiet it down. The noise isn't the motor, it is the vibration. I have it cushioned with a few levels of corkboard to try to quiet it.
When I take the red and green beacon at the top off, it is perfectly quiet. When I drop the beacon back on, the noise starts. It vibrates very load at the top. Has anybody had this problem?

| I've never seen one. I'd love to see a picture of yours if you're able to. I've got the O scale version without a motor--it works from the heat of the light bulb.

Here is a photo. I got it pretty cheap. There is one on eBay right now. I've seen them go very high.

I would have thought the O scale one would be similar, but a bigger version!
I also have a rotating radar antenna which is the exact same tower but with an antenna instead of a beacon at the top.
Yep...got the little Hess truck at a Hess gas station. Christmas tradition!
