Those LL kits really look sharp with a touch of paint. I've been repainting the old ones that I abandoned because I thought they were "goofy" and getting great results.
In the 90's I had the logging mill, but I was in "realism" mode and didn't like the unrealistic function. I threw it in a box of things to pack away, and when I got it out it was broken in several pieces. I'm still trying to find them all and piece it back together.

In their defense, this was also sold as a "gravel dump" which at least clarifies what was being dumped and implies that it was useful.

Got to get one of these, I had a log dump, but it was sadly abandoned after an unsuccessful garage sale. Now I have the perfect place for it...

What I find really humorous is that obviously these box artists have no CLUE how real-world business operates. Take a look - trees growing up to the dump bin, there's no road access to it on the other side of the track, so HOW does it get used? Same with the log dumper, it's usually shown in the middle of a field ( how are they going to process wood there? Wouldn't there be a suburban or business area with log-holding facilities? ). While it makes for great <ahem!> art, it is just SOOOOOOOOO unrealistic in real life, I just have to smile every time I see one of these accessory boxes. I know kids won't know the difference, but still, you'd think they's spend a little more effort on a realistic setting for the accessories. I guess I'm too picky that way.

I heard Bob's dumping station and was looking to find a roadside rest!! Nice! I like buying the shrink wrapped kits and displaying the boxes after the kit is built..
Maybe it's the "log dump" that is the roadside rest...

My first set was the Life Like dual engine set. It came with 6 or 7 cars, locomotive, dummy, Bob's dump station, the auto rack, three track side buildings and a tunnel. More than enough for a 7 year old.
