Hi,
I've been trying to acquire some of my lost toys that I had as a kid. I was mainly into Tyco slot cars and US-1 trucking as a kid and always had trains in my layouts. My favorites were the off road race tracks and the trains going through the mountains. This past Christmas my Daughter received a slot car track and a cheap Bachmann oval from Santa. Needless to say this is what she wanted after I pulled my stuff out and setup on two 4x8 sheets of plywood this past October. I'm looking forward to learn more about the trains. As I could build a tyco car with just scrap parts in front of me I'm hoping to do that with the trains. I'm also looking to add a 30x35 addition to my house with a full rec room basement and have an old Lionel I'm looking forward to setup along the perimeter of the Rec room.

Welcome to our home, you'll like it here.
I didn't realize, although it seems natural now, that so many were into the slot cars also. I am too. Like some I had to start all over, everything from my childhood is pretty much gone.
Maybe an HO scale slot car forum or two are in order?

That's not a bad idea. It seems to come up on here a lot. As for myself, slot cars aren't something I actively pursue, but I have some and I enjoy them.

Welcome aboard.I have three children who discovered the world of trains and we dug out what was left, now im buying again. As a youngster,my brother was into the slot cars and one time we had the trains interlink with the slot cars and found out that was a bad idea as sometimes the slot cars flew off the track and took out the train.Well we also had the GI Joe set in there somehow.oh well enough about me,looking forward to some pics and like you said im still learning my camera.

Welcome back aboard, Jeepman. I, too, own a Jeep ( and 9 AMC Gremlins), Tyco trains and slot cars, among other stuff. Glad to have you back. We've had quite a bit of discussion about repairing the PT motors in Tyco engines, I've discovered that the old Aurora and some T-jet brushes will work in the Tyco train engine motors. Many on here were lamenting they couldn't find parts, so I took it upon myself to find out if slot car parts would work, and some do. Hopefully this may help you restore and repair some of your equipment as well. At any rate, glad your serious issues are behind? you now, and you can go back to having some fun with Tyco toys.

Hmm makes me wonder if my old slot cars are sound somewhere. I know I saw some track the other day but did not notice any cars.

I was not sure where to post this but wanted to give some kudos to a member on here. I posted having an issue with my Bachmann F-9 and he offered up the parts and threw in some sweet extras. AMC Gremlin GT you rock. Thanks for the help and for the goodies. I hope to be able to return the favor some day. The engine works perfectly now.

Hey, so it's working now? Hot-dam! I guess the gear transplant was a success! Glad to see some Bachmann parts made useful again. One reason I bought out my club buddy's junkboxes. Don't forget to post a pic of it in it's "out of the shop" condition somewhere. Would like to see it. You're welcome and enjoy.
