On page 77 of the January 2007 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman is a photo with what appears to be a Tyco operating hopper complete with horn-hook couplers decorated in the blue Boston & Maine scheme! The photo accompanies the article "Touring the SP Western Division" written by Lloyd Roberts about his own layout.

He probably submitted it to Model Railroader, also...and once Koester, Sperandeo, Larson...and the other elistist "Elder Statesmen of HO Purity" saw that Tyco hopper on his layout, they guffawed, laughed OUT LOUD with each other, and in a cavalier tone probably told the guy to "try Railroad Model Craftsman."

The irony: Koester used to work at RMC. Rich. [^]

I've been wondering why MR keeps sending back my article submission..."DCC and Sound Equipping Your TYCO Super630s"?!?

[:O)]

Those single truck PowerTorque's would be prime candidates for DCC and Sound...there is so much room under the hood to put speakers and DCC decoders! I think I could get a Quadraphonic set of speakers and a sub-woofer inside a TYCO Super630 with ease!

If you do quadraphonic sound in a 630, I will send you a copy of
Dark Side Of The Moon, mastered in Quadraphonic Stereo, circa 1974.

How appropriate...runnin' Tyco while the Floyd is blaring from the layout.[}:)]

Thanks anyway, but I already have a dts-CD copy of the quadraphonic Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"...guess I'll have to get busy on that C630.

I like your thinking. Did they make a quad of their Animals album? That is one of my favorites.
