After 3 years of waiting, I just recently received my inheritence...my uncle's HO collection. I thought I'd become a member of this site for lots of fun and informantion. Being that my Uncle Frank was from N.J. it seems alot of his trains are Mantua. Some marked simply Mantua, and some with Mantua and Tyco together on the bottom of the cars. Looks like I came to the right place to learn about my new collection. I read about Mantua on the web, and wondered how people figure out what they have. I even have stock with no name at all. I thought it would be fun to figure out what year some of these were, as to my knowlege, he's been collecting since the 1960's. Brands on boxes range from Tenshodo's (i have 6 rolling stock of these brass cars No.600 to 606) to Rivarossi, to Mantua, HTM, Road House, Tyco, Bachman, and some others. Just fascinating, and enogh to keep me busy for a long time to come. Feel free to ask what i may have if you collect certain things, for example, I have a NFL series, and a Bicetennial series. They both have the engines. Fact, i think one has Lionel on the engine..in HO of course. Look forward to meeting some of you. Thanks.
