Hi, I recently joined the site to see if anybody knew how I could find out the values of some tyco trains? Other than looking on ebay and finding some trains I have for an estimate, where else could I find out what's worth what?
Thanks

Pictures are the best way to ask, detailed descriptions are the next best thing. Troll ebay and look for similar items, that will get you started.

The Trouble with Tycos is that "value" is all over the map... from billions of pieces worth dirt, to a nice selection marginally worth the hassles of ebay toward earning a few bucks, to a few that can surprise and command a good premium. There's no overall rule of thumb; with Tyco "old" does not always equal "valuable", nor does "newer" always equal "worthless junk". Typically most Tyco is indeed cheap... but plenty of it isn't.

So if you have pictures, that's the best way to go. Trying to explain it all otherwise would take all day, and we don't even know what you have.

Hi,

You've come to the right place. To be right to the point, there is no official guide for pricing Tyco trains. However, the knowledgeable people here can give you a range of what you might expect to receive for items. Pictures are the most valuable piece of information you can give us. Of course there are many things which can influence the price. Is there anything broken? Any missing pieces? Do the trains have their original boxes?

I'm sure they're are many here, including myself, that would throw some guesstimates out there if you can provide the right information.

The bottom line will always be that it's only worth what someone is willing to pay at the moment you sell it.
