Built according to American standards by China’s Tangshan Locomotive Works in 1989, the SY 2-8-2 Mikado was originally owned by Essex Junction Railroad in Connecticut before being sold to the Susquehanna Railroad in the 1990s. Although steam is a rare treat in modern times, the SY can be seen in freight and fan-trip service today.
