New video of My running of Rock Island Shark / Midnight Special / Royal Blue locomotive with Tyco freight cars. My layout is unfinished and no current plans of finishing until i get confirmation that my house is not going to be foreclosed on.

Nice video Brian. I like the Royal Blue with the tag under the bell for the smoke oil.

i reallt like those old tyco steam engines. theres just something about them. i never cared for the shark nose deisel engines, but after seeing them in action, it has changed my mind on them a little. i never cared for a GG1 until i bought one & threw it on the track. now it's one of my favorites.
are you not working either? i know more people that's laid off than i do that are working. nafta in action!

I like your close-up panning shots... really good for action and shows off when they're running smooth. The STC is too small and my basement too crappy for these kinds of things. Nice to see someone flying the flag!

Thank you for the comments. Smokie -- Yes working but only getting 32 hrs a week -- since late dec 08. My income has been reduced to over 50%+. By Christmas i might gross $24,000 for the year when i normally make over $50,000. Nothing i can do but ride it out. Some of you may make more or less--not putting numbers out to brag, boast or complain. In my area--when the economy is good--Making $50,000 + is not hard even people w/o college degrees. I actually earn more than some college grads and there are fellow employees i work with that have masters and buisiness degrees earning more money working at the concrete plant than their degree can earn them? My income will pick back up but not his year and next year it is questionable. Smokie - Glad my video helped change your outlook on Sharks a little and i hear you on the GG1
Shaygetz = Yes--no music -- Just Tyco engine noise
GIC -- Thanks -- When filming -- I first visualize the scene before shooting just as a real film maker would and then experiment. I should put some bloopers up sometime because to get some of those shots to look good is not easy as they appear in video's -- The smooth running makes those Tyco haters bite their tongues! L-O-L
burlington77 -- Thanks
Alco Fan - Dust free layout? Funny -- there is dust on it--the camera just doesn't pick it up and i do clean some before filming? This is the first time layout has been ran in a while so i had to clean the track

Nice vid Brian. You got some cool angles. Glad to see you posting them again.
What kind of lighting is over your layout? My layout is in the basement, so lighting is a bit of an issue, especially when half my trains are black (CN FTW O_o)

Cheez -- I use flourescent bulbs called Daylight bulbs. I bought them at Wal-Mart. They are not cheap i think they are $10.00 for a 2 pack -- these lights are really bright and worth the money especially when filming. I have 4 -2light fixtures with these bulbs in them over my layout
