Here's a Tyco that looks good enough to be cataloged, but of course, never was

This vintage scheme dates to the early/mid 50's. A handful of other STC cars I've made used cues from my intended vintage scheme, showing a transition to the modern one... but I never made a model of it until now.

This car is a favorite of mine, but I don't really know why. I got it in a box of stuff on ebay for only a couple bucks. It's an AHM/Tempo tank car. There's something about the way it looks that I really like.

That's definately a Gilbert (AF). The rivets and smokestack are unmistakeable.

The Virginian? I like that one too. I really like the Morrison-Knudson behind it, although I don't know much about it.

I have that Virginian car in my fleet. I often get it confused with my AHM Canadian National hopper, which is the same color. I have to look at the two cars closely to distinguish the two.

quote: That N scale Santa Fe car tou're talking about must be an old Atlas issue. I have an N scale Santa Fe passenger train made by Atlas that is at least 40 years old, and is in the original box. It consisted of a Santa Fe E8 in warbonnet colors with four heavyweight cars, which have their original cases. The Power Pack looks like mint condition, and has its original box. The engine and power pack work too.

I found this in the bottom of a box lot I bought. Are you interested in trading the N scale?

HA! I love that caboose Ray. It looks like something you'd expect to see in a movie...ya know...car hits a jump, doesn't get enough height and smashes through the center breaking it in two.
