I was back in my home town during the weekend of October 10th. I made time to go to the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium Maryland. Since moving from the area 4 years ago I was very happy my visit coincided with the train show. I found a few items I have been looking for, pics are attached.

Very nice finds and wish me luck. I'm planning on driving 2 hours, tomorrow, to a train show that is close to my home.

Cheez,
The camelback is a Mantua, all the locos were in the original boxes. Post your show finds, would like to see them.

Hi Tayco,
There were 2 in the box, a right and a left. Both manually operated. The guy was asking $5 bucks !! I thought he would want a whole lot more so I jumped on it.

Good luck at the train show AF, happy hunting.

Would you believe I was at a train show today as well?

No Tyco items to speak of, but I did get a couple of things that I was kinda looking for.
Here's a very nice Athearn switcher of some sort, an EMD something-or-other. The previous owner installed a VERY cool directional headlight system that is also super bright. The bulbs are at full intensity at all different throttle settings!

A Rapido sleeper, the second Rapido car I've bought. Apart from the price, I absolutely love everything about these models. They come with a bajillion details, and factory equipped lighting.

And this is a nice Walthers car. Great price, great model, what's not to like?

So yeah, my plans for the new layout are to model VIA Rail in Atlantic Canada, in the early '80s. F-units and FA's galore.

Eaglerock,
I wish I'd known you were coming to the show.
I would've liked to have met you there as I went both days.
I picked up mostly O gauge stuff, though I did buy a Athearn boxcar, and a Tri Ang passenger car.

I went to a small train show in Atchison, KS a couple weeks ago. This is one thing I picked up:

When I got it it was an Athearn dummy. I swapped the shell with an SP daylight loco I had given to my daughter. She likes dummies better anyway...she can just push them around her track. Now its got an older Athearn drive unit in it. I bought it because I love the blue and yellow cat whisker scheme, and I've never had one.

Hey Matt. I love the Rapido sleeper. Super-detailed with factory lighting...what an awesome car. I'm working on a set of those Walthers Via streamliners. So far I'm up to three ...Expensive O_o

That sounds like it's going to be a sweet layout
