As I mentioned in my HO scale Walmart Purchases article, I found some HO scale hot wheels cars. I picked up the only two left . They are definitely detailed enough for me, but probably aren't for the strict modeler, although you can't go wrong for $0.97 each (Why did they leve the cents sign off of the keyboard again? ). I am definitely looking out for the Ferrari! I did some digging on the Hot Wheels website, and found the page where you can view the cars in mix 1:

Enjoy!

I haven't been able to get into the hotwheels. Everything is always painted some bright metallic color and is usually some supercar or sports car. Kinda hard when your trying to fill the streets of your town and everyone apparently seems to have cash to burn
Matchbox has some decent normal stuff though. And the other day I noticed my local Wally world carrying Johnny Lighting stuff. Which I've heard of before but never seen. Picked up a nice looking Plymouth Fury 4 door for $1.80 I think? Pretty reasonable for the extra detail you get! The hood opens, all the lights are painted, and the wheels seemed alot nicer.

The Johnny Lightning stuff is awesome when you can find it...very nicely detailed and LOTS of types of cars. That's the problem though, finding them in the right scale.

Yes, Hot Wheels does manufacture some pretty wild rides . . . So far the 1/87 series look pretty normal. They are modeled after real cars. Matchbox would probably get the check for normal, though
