My Athearn Genesis F-unit catalog just came in and I got my sights on buying a DCC/Sound one in southern or Seaboard colors. Anybody own one? If so, whats your thoughts of them?

My buddy has a few. Solid engines with great detail. His are all F-units also, can't say they have ever had issues. The joke is when everything else seems to be jumping the rails, we send these out so we can catch a break haha.

I own a Bluebox kit of Athearn's GP-9, best cheap engine I ever ran!

Big difference in blue box and Genesis locos.
I've never heard bad about Genesis F's, I've known people who were less than happy with the SD70/75 though. I guess they don't pull well.
Nice picture, but you have to work on that backdrop! :)
