LED in a Varney, hee hee.
I'm really likin' these old Varney projects guys, reminds me of how a modeler would build all of his models back in the '50s.

Hi Matt!
1. the LED fits perfect in the hole I had to drill for it and I only had to stick it in without gluing or so.
2. a LED lives very much longer than a normal bulb
3. there is no spillover light
4. looks similar to the 1:1 original (a flathead one will look better an I will try to get one).
5. I have original Varney Bulbs (and the special lightning kit too), but with this bulbs the F looks like it has a droping nose!

Looks great Erich. The number boards make a huge difference in the appearance too.

Really cool, from a mud hen to a peacock with a working MARS light. Nice layout, I'd really like to see some more of that. Is that code 83 rail?

Mostly rails 2.1 mm high, some parts of the layout with 2.5 mm rails (darker ties).

Code 83 figures out to be pretty close to 2.1mm, and 2.5mm would be code 100.
