well here is a c-630 that was all but junk when i got it. the trucks were painted black, & some goofball took a black marker to all the radiator grilles, handrails were all bent up & the holes the went into was broken out. i filled the pilots & put on kadee couplers. it turned out OK, but i didn't have much to work with.

N+W bought the only high-hooded C630s. A total of ten. 9 of them did survive and were passed into NS. They were given new numbers, but none got repainted into NS paint. All were traded in to GE for trade-in credit in 1985-86 time frame. 8 were scrapped and 1 preserved at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke.
So your loco is a bit of a fantasy, but not by too much. And it is nice looking to boot!

Did you sell it on eBay? I saw an NS C630 on there a few days ago someone was selling.

i can do you one up if you like. it's not that hard & i could leave the pilots open to use the factory tyco coupler pockets. if you have one that isn't in good shape paint wise, that would be best. i also have the horsehead NS logo too. just thought i would offer. i'm thinking of doing one up in the southern tuxedo. i think that would look awesome!
the shape of the boddy wasn't that great. that's why i didn't offer it on here first. i like you people & didn't want to take a chance on one of you to be disapointed in it. you guys are the very best people i have met online.

That is a great model. It would have been interesting to swap the positions of the trucks...the powered side with the headlight in the back.. so that when running, the loco would be operating "long hood forward" as did the NS with such engines.
