I just logged on and have been reading several hot topics about the forum and being locked out of topic. I have been a member on here for a couple of years--since right after it first started. This FORUM IS MAINLY ABOUT TYCO TRAINS ACCESSORIES AND SUCH Along with other HO scale manufactureres . If your a person who can not stand Tyco locoomotives etc-Don't join! This site is for Tyco enthusiasts and for all others who have an interest in Tyco. I and many others have posted photo's -video's etc of Tyco products to help all who join to better understand products made by Tyco or to get operational. In the time i have been here--several of us have been seeking as much info about Tyco as possible to get a documented history as history of Tyco trains was not well if any documentation by Tyco itself to share with all. I would like to REMIND EVERYONE that there is a PAYPAL donation link to help this site. All money donated goes to improvement and payment of the FREE BANDWITH WE ENJOY that is footed by several Admins. I am going to make an effort to donate some money as membership has really jumped in these first few months of 09 which is Great! I enjoy all topics posted by members even if it's not about trains in loose ends as i myself post off topics. I am here having fun and helping those who ask for it and the ones who don't ask for it. If you are here for a profit-my opinion is your in the wrong forum. FORUM ETIQUETTE = if someone asks a question to a topic you posted-Please try to reply back-- TO GET RESPECT YOU FIRST HAVE TO GIVE IT.
SUGGESTION = CLEAN OUT THE EBAY SIGHTINGS WEEKLY TO FREE UP SPACE. MOST OF THESE LINKS HAVE EXPIRED OR EXPIRE SOON AFTER AUCTION CLOSES.
THIS IS STILL THE FREINDLIEST SITE FOR HO TYCO TRAINS AND OTHER MANUFACTURES OF HO SCALE ON THE WEB! WHY-- EVERYONE HERE IS TOO HAVE OR HAVING FUN NO MATTER WHAT THEY RUN MODEL ETC WITHOUT FEAR OF RIDICULE AS OTHER MODEL TRAIN SITES CAN BE DE-MEANING- RUDE OR ARROGANT. RIVET COUNTERS WILL FIND THIS SITE REPULSIVE---L-O-L. FEEL FREE TO ADD OR COMMENT

Well said Brian! I have just become a member fairly recently and I enjoy the forum as I am not on any other forums period. I do Ebay & Youtube but I am not a PC wiz at all.
I have always liked Tyco trains as I grew up with them. They are what I had and all I need now to be happy in the train department.. I'm glad there is a place for Tyco Train fans to enjoy and share their knowledge with others of the same interests. I really don't know much about Tyco trains as some do... Like different versions, or colors etc... I just started replacing all the Tyco trains I had as a kid, and kept buying once I had met that goal.. This forum does allow us to post comments & photos without the massive critisism found on Youtube. It's a well known fact, that no matter what a person likes, their will be others out their just waitting to bash it.. There is some really good people on here Brian, and you are one of them!

Quote For Truth!
Thanks, Brian.
I would seek to add a disclaimer regarding other ModelRR sites. There are many friendly, polite people and excellent resources at other sites as well. Trouble is, Tyco is such a small "shameful indulgence" for most modern modelers that this site is much smaller. Hence, a larger site is akin to the Train Shows recently discussed elsewhere - full of good people with a sprinkling of the grumpy and unwashed. Pretty much more like real life I guess. When dealing with those sites it's like Kenny Rogers once said: "Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em". But yeah, this one is a bit more laid back. A rare find these days.

This is definitely one of the friendliest sites I've been on. Actually, there are only a handful of sites I regularly visit, and this is one of them!

Ok, I'll say an AMEN!
I too have a ton of tyco too (and other makes) and I love coming to this site more than once a day...
It's everything I was looking for, relaxing, entertaining, enjoyable and a wealth of information from very friendly, knowledgeable people...

Well put Brian, last night was certainly a negative one for the forum.
Still, it's about the trains, and our shared liking for the misfits of the hobby today.
And yes, it's nothing but friendly people who are more than willing to help, share, and offer encouragement. That's why I visit here at least once a day!

I agree with all the above This site sure does make the work day go faster! If it wasn't for me coming on here and seeing what alot of people were doing with the old Tyco & other various trains I don't know if I would have got back into things like I have. Now at any given time I'm keeping at least 3 projects going and looking for a dozen more haha. But the attitudes here make the site also, everyone is down to earth and that makes a big difference.

Glad to see replies are positive and to read that many of you are like me in the fact that you enjoy coming here and are having fun with knowledgable individuals sharing the passion. I want to say to the younger members--THANKYOU- you guys and or girls will be the futrure knowledge of Tyco and all others information. I am glad to see MM/Cheeses age group on here as Tyco was definitly not in their generation but they have a fond interest and enthusiasm for Tyco. MM--while it may have been negative blow to forum==glad to see your positve comment as well as cheese and everyone else. With the above said-- This is the GREATEST GROUP Still TO BE A PART OF AND I AM GLAD TO KNOW MORE THAN HALF OF YOU ON HERE. I am also GRATEFUL TO OUR FRIENDS ON HERE FROM OVERSEAS as i have learned and seen some cool pictures of trains i never knew existed. Just one question though--Tyco as made in Hong Kong mostly--so why don't we have amember from Hong Kong yet-- L-O-L

I'm thankful we have a forum for Tyco, and other makes that usually gets no respect. Try to talk about Tyco on the Model Railroader Magazine forums and you'll get laughed at. The members here are pleasant and offer much about modeling, and repairs, and enjoy showing their layouts and newest purchases to others interested in the same. I also like how there (almost) are no flame wars about rivet counting, weathering, and such. I enjoy reading about all facets of trains, real, model, imagined, etc. that's why I collect and operate in N,HO,OO,S,O,and live steam 7-1/2" gauge. What I'm basicly saying is I'm glad to be here.

Hey Brian, I agree with ALMOST every thing you mentioned! That rivet counter comment was uncalled for! I am very much a rivet counter, but I still hang out here as much as possible. And I don't like Tyco stuff. But I do like the friends I've made here and all the general model and real railroad info I've gained. And besides, where else can a respectable rivet counter such as myself talk about my interest in crappy AHM stuff?
