Is there a price guide anywhere for Tyco locomotives, rolling stock and accessories? It would sure help this newbie!

I go to Ebay, it will tell me fairly well what a particular piece will be worth. Not 100% reliable but close enough for me.

As Shaygetz mentioned... ebay has pretty much made published price guides for everything (trading cards, diecast toys, slot cars, Lionel trains, etc) pretty much worthless and obsolete the moment they're printed.
Ebay also knows this. Which is why they now charge for the formerly-free ability to search completed items archived over 2 weeks old.
Just troll around there long enough and you'll get an idea for what's as common as dirt.
There are indeed quite a few notable items though, and if you dig through here enough you'll figure out what those are.
My GIC Guide concept uses a "relative rarity" scale, as this makes them relevant regardless of the situation and lets the free market work.
That said: set a limit, know what you want... and always beware of snipers.
