| A friend of mine has a IHC Pacific and it runs beautifully. I'm also curious as to what the diesels pull like? I remember hearing they were Tyco shells but forgot about it. For the prices they sell them for they look pretty good! Wouldn't mind a quick edition to the fleet hehe.

The IHC SD-24 is a phenomenal engine for the price... I was pleasantly amazed at how well it ran. The only flaw is the chassis is very lightwieght and flimsy, and could use some beefing up if you want to haul a lot of cars. But it runs exceptionally smooth for a loco of that price range, and easily puts any Tyco (PT or MU2) to shame. You can also swap the IHC SD24 chassis into a Tyco SD24 shell with little difficulty - worth the price for that alone because Tyco's paint jobs were far superior IMO.
You can find info on the repowers here:

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Well its not a SD... but I did manage to add another Tyco to my fleet for free!
My brother had this little guy just sitting on a box, he picked it up at a flea market since he liked it. Runs fine, but just a LITTLE to fast for normal layout usage. But I've always wanted one of these after I played with them as a kid. No cars for it unfortunately.

This board never fails to impress me lol. The bridge use to be a blue color. When the layout was pulled back up for duty a year ago, the bridge was painted flat black and had a few details added. Only downside is where it sits it never gets used, which is a shame.
As for the turbo train, I'm almost considering adding some removable weights inside so I could run it normally. Its so light that under 50% power, it first does a burnout then launches itself into orbit. When it does run within a almost reasonable speed it will jump the track if there is a small variation. Since once again nothing is holding it down.

Actually not all the Girder & Panel sets were colored. I had a black set - one of the famous (and now apparently super-rare and $$$) Sears Tower sets.
In fact I still have a few of the black-plastic girders that I used for train loads way back in the day.
As for the rest of that epic set? Lost by my family when they cleaned out the garage a few years back. I had no idea how valuable it was until I tried to find a replacement. I bought mine for $10 at a garage sale in 1990. Th last complete one I saw on Ebay (before I gave up thinking I could get a lucky cheap replacement) went for $650!
My brother did make it up to me later by giving me the Puzz-3D of the Sears Tower. Which was cool. But, that one's only a couple feet tall. The Girder and Panel Sears Tower was nearly FIVE feet tall!

Here are a few loco/layout pics as my HO Texas desert transforms into somewhere in Scotland/Wales. I finally have just enough structures to have it not look like a British preservation line running through Texas! Photos show a 3F Jinty at a Hornby station (with lighted clock added!), a B-12 loco in front of the signal box, waitng for the go-ahead, a hidden tank loco in a Hornby shed with Dapol water tower, and a Class 25 pulling Mark II coaches past the "Station Hotel," with some cattle grazing along the hillside of the tunnel.

My brother had the bridge & girder set in black. My step-brother had the blue tower sets... put together, Holy! I loved that stuff.
Steel girders for flat-car loads... gee, I wish I thought of that back in... 1981-1983.
Nice to see this stuff.

The RS-11 (DL701), RS-27 (DL640), and RSD 7/15 (DL600) paint schemes were created by Howard Fogg.
More info later, the deeper I get into my "Diesel Demonstrators" book.
