HI Everyone--My name is Ford and I live in New Braunfels, TX near San Antonio. I've been monitoring the site for a couple of months and was only recently able to successfully register. Somehow, I was never getting the confirmation emails to my aol account.

Anyway, I've been a Tyco fan since Santa brought me the Spirit of 76 set in 1976. I've still got my complete set in original boxes including the Alco 430 engine. I've recently started collecting some of the engines and rolling stock I missed out on in my youth.

I hope to model The Southern Railway. Having grown up in Alabama, that's the railroad that ran through our town. Thanks to all the members of the forum. Your selfless sharing of hints and tips has been a great resource. I am looking forward to collecting with all of you.

Hi ford,

welcome to the forum from good ole Europe! Heard that they have the best bakeries all over the US in New Braunfels due to their German heritage....
I've been to TX a few times but never made it to your town, even if I wanted.

Have fun,

Martin

NB is a great place known for its German heritage and water park. And yes, there is a bakery that has been operating since the 1850s. Our sister city is Braunfels, Germany.

Hello Ford, I'm now up in the Dallas area, but used to live down your way--graduated from college in San Marcos. Welcome to the board. Has the big New Braunfels train show been held yet this year? Chris
