While wandering around some antique shops near Baltimore, MD recently, I spied some HO cars, and beside them two red girder bridges, with 3 rails. On the bottom it said Marklin. Did Marklin do 3-rail as AC or DC? I found a silver girder bridge like it on Ebay last week, just sold for $30. This antique shop has two red ones, and they want $25 each. Not sure what I'd do with them, but never seen HO 3-rail before. Anyone up on the Euro Marklin HO 3 rail?

Hello Jerry,
Marklin is run on AC power, with 3 rails.
Later they went to a stud third rail instead of the solid rail.
By the way, did you find the red bridges at Objects Found in Catonsville?

I forgot to add,the Marklin 3rail stuff isn't compatible with 2 rail equipment.
The outside rails aren't insulated from each other.

Carl, as a matter of fact, I DID find them in Catonsville...they yours? Not sure of the shop name, but it was a small antique shop with consignments. Must be a music town, plenty of guitar stores and music stores around.

Jerry,
No, they're not mine but I did buy a bunch of Marklin stuff from them a while ago.
The bridges came in after I bought the other stuff, and thought they were asking too much for them,so I passed on them.
And yes,Catonsville is considered Marylands Music Town.(I lived there for about 14 years)
