Oh my...is this really rare?

I found this very set at my antiques shop!

Granted, it was not in quite as good condition, and it was missing the little street sign, but it still had the box with inserts.

It also seemed a little small for O scale, but a little big for HO...S maybe?

Perhaps I ought to venture out to the antiques shop again if it really is a rare set!

How much is a EUR equal to in US dollars?
I have the set without the box and I can't imagine it is worth very much.

I think that is about $30. As for the rarity, it *is* in Italy, and to have one sent from over here, it would probably cost $30 just to ship it. Of course I am not in Italy, so I will be happy with my Marx sets right here.

tyco/mantua diesels go for between $20/30 without boxes here in uk,as we only get a few bits over here, if you want you pay,i dont as most have no handrails, truck covers or couplings have been modified badly, thats why i buy bulk from states, ken

erich we are unlucky and lucky at same time, what i have found is regards sets is that we do not get much, american locos like tyco, lionel, marx etc tend to be rare in europe, but on the bright side what is common here tends to be rare in states, trix, liliput mehano etc,ken
