Hi all, This is my second post on the forum. Really think I need to jump in with this since time is running out for these steam locomotives. http://lostengines.railfan.net/
Seems a shame that they survived all these years right at the brink of scrapping and now be truly lost.

It's always frustrating to see this. The loco in my avatar was nearly sold for scrap by the vocational school it had been donated to. It's in far poorer shape than it was when it ran on a tourist line in the 60's and early 70's.
I hope these locos are rescued before they rust away.

What a shameful waste! Worse than those "park display" engines! NS, CSX, BNSF need a steam program like UP!

| Thought I'd bump this to the front. According to some information I just read. All the locomotives, including the Baldwin diesels have been removed from the scrapyard. One steam engine is at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. I'm way behind on the news as apparently this occurred in August of 2009.
