I have been given a 1989 K-Line Coca Cola set to check out before it circulates a relative's xmas tree display.

Being an HO user, this 'O' scale & 3 rail AC set up has me scratching my head when it comes to getting power to the rails.
The transformer has 2 wires running to what looks like a flat piece of insulated card out of which sticks a metal 'tongue at the end & there is a secondary metal 'groove' further back from the end. They line up with 2 rails, but I cannot figure out how you position this thing & keep it held in place against the rails.
Any advice?
Thanks

That item is referred to as a "lockon"

It clips on the bottom of the outside rail and (either one) and it clips onto the bottom of the middle rail then the transformer wires get attached to the binding clips.

Hope this helps
